Abstract
The invention comprises sulphanilamidopyridazines of the general formula: <FORM:0866838/IV (b)/1> wherein "alk" represents an alkyl radical of 1-5 carbon atoms and salts thereof such as the alkali metal alkaline earth metal, magnesium and aluminium salts, and their preparation by treating a 6-halo-3-sulphanilamido-pyridazine with a lower alkane sulphinic acid in the form of its metal (e.g. sodium) salt. The alkyl radical may suitably be an ethyl, propyl, butyl or amyl, or more preferably, methyl radical.ALSO:Pharmaceutical preparations for enteral, parenteral comprise sulphanilamido-pyridazines of the formula <FORM:0866838/VI/1> wherein "alk" is an alkyl radical of 1-5 carbon atoms, or a salt thereof, such as an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, magnesium, aluminium or an organic salt (see Groups IV (b)) and a pharmaceutical carrier. The preparations may take the form of tablets, dragees, powders, salves, creams, suppositories, solutions, suspensions or emulsions and may also contain preserving, stabilizing, wetting or emulsifying agents or other therapeutically valuable substances.
