Abstract

The invention comprises non-toxic, pharmaceutically-acceptable acid addition salts of compounds of the general formula <FORM:1005021/C2/1> (wherein of the substituents A and B, one stands for a halogen atom and the other stands for the radical -NHR1, wherein R1 stands for an alkyl radical of 2 or more carbon atoms, a haloalkyl radical of 2 or more carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl radical or an aralkyl radical), pharmaceutical preparations containing them, and their preparation by replacing by a halogen atom or atoms the hydroxy radical or radicals of a compound of the formula <FORM:1005021/C2/2> (wherein of the substituents D and E, one stands for a hydroxy radical and the other stands for the radical -NHR2, wherein R2 stands for an alkyl radical of 2 or more carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl radical or an aralkyl radical) with concomitant formation of the hydrohalide salt, optionally followed by conversion to a different salt. The starting material may be used in the form of a salt. The compounds of the invention are useful in the treatment of prophylaxis of coronary artery disease, and may be administered orally or parenterally in the form of pharmaceutical preparations (e.g. tablets, capsules, aqueous or oily solutions, aqueous or oily suspensions, emulsions, injectable aqueous or oily solutions or suspensions, and dispersible powders) containing them together with a diluent or carrier.
