Abstract

The invention comprises pyrazolone derivatives of the general formula: <FORM:0852727/IV(b)/1> (wherein R and R1 each represent a straight- or branched-chain alkyl group of 1-5 carbon atoms) and their acid addition salts, the preparation thereof by condensing a 2-phenyl-3:6-dialkylmorpholine with formaldehyde and 1-phenyl-2:3-dimethylpyrazolone-(5) in an aqueous acidic solution, and analgesic preparations containing the products (see Group VI).ALSO:Analgesic preparations contain a pyrazolone derivative of the general formula: <FORM:0852727/VI/1> (wherein R and R1 each represent a straight- or branched-chain alkyl group of 1-5 carbon atoms), or an acid addition salt thereof, and a pharmaceutical diluent or carrier. Specified salts are hydrochlorides, gentisates, phosphates and ascorbates. Aqueous solutions of 1-phenyl-2:3-dimethyl - 4 - (21 - phenyl - 31:61 - dimethylmor - pholinomethyl) - pyrazolone - (5) ascorbate are also particularly useful as antiphogistics.
