Abstract

Pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of allergic and inflammatory conditions comprise at least one urea derivative of the formula: <FORM:1055741/A5-A6/1> wherein R stands for H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkyenyl, aralkyl, or for an aryl radical, which may optionally be substituted by one or more halogen atoms or alkoxy radicals, X stands for an aryl radical which is substituted by one or more halogen atoms or alkoxy, alkyl, holoalkyl, alkoxycarbonyl, nitro, cyano, phenyl or methylsulphonyl radicals, and ring A may optionally be further substituted by one or more halogen atoms or alkoxy, alkyl, alkoxycarbonyl, nitro, carboxy or aminosulphonyl radicals, or a salt thereof, together with a diluent or carrier. The compositions may be administered orally in the form of tablets, capsules, aqueous or oily solutions or suspensions, which may be injectable, emulsions or dispersible powders, together with conventional adjuvants or excipients. The compositions may additionally contain one or more known medicaments, e.g. anti-inflammatory agents such as phenylbutazone, acetylsalicylic acid, cortisone, or hydrocortisone.
