Class 112 An attachment for use with a linking machine for relatively positioning on the machine parts to be linked together, comprises an armate carrier member furnished with radially-extending guide pins, said member being concentric with the rotary point dial and being-supported from a bracket mounted on the machine frame for free pivotal movement about the axis of said dial. An armate member 10, concentric with the rotary point dial 1, is formed with closely spaced circumferential holes 13 adapted to receive selectively radially-extending pins 11 having points 11a disposed at the inner ends of the dial points 4. Member 10 is rigidly connected by arms 17 to a plate 18 hingedly connected to a vertical limb 12b of an L-shaped bracket, the horizontal limb 12a of which is supported upon the fixed bearing 8 for the rotary spindle of the dial 1. Limb 12a is freely pivoted about a screwed stud 15 warial with bearing 8, a compression spring surrounding the stud being arranged between the stud head 15a and a washer 16 seated on the limb 12a. An overcentre tension spring 22 biases member 10 either to the lowered operative position, or to a raised inoperative position. The pins 11 may be contrastingly coloured, pins of different colours indicating different positions in a garment.
