Abstract

864,684. Mounting engines and gear-boxes. ANDRE CITROEN S.A. May 4, 1959 [May 7, 1958], No. 15133/59. Classes 79(2) and 79(3). In a motor vehicle the power unit and a unit comprising the change-speed and differential gears are connected by a flexible coupling 4 and are each resiliently secured to the frame of the vehicle by supports S1, S3 and S4 distributed on either side of the longitudinal axis. The power unit is suspended by the two lateral supports S1 disposed in the vicinity of its centre of gravity and exactly in the transverse median plane of the cylinder block and by a third support S2. Two pairs of supports S3, S4 support the change-speed and differential unit driven from the crankshaft 1 by a clutch 3, flexible couplings 4, 6 and shafts 5, 7. One of the pairs of supports S3 or S4 may be replaced by a single support in the axial plane of the vehicle.
