<FORM:0861859/III/1> or <FORM:0861859/III/2> The sodium salt of compound 1 may be prepared by neutralizing a mixture of hypophosphoric acid, H4P2O6, and phosphorus oxychloride with sodium bicarbonate. The sodium salt of compound 2 may be prepared by neutralizing a mixture of hypophosphoric acid and pyrophosphorous acid, H4P2O5, with sodium bicarbonate of preferably by precipitation with alcohol from a mixed solution of sodium pyrophosphite and sodium hypophosphate.
