Abstract

496,252. Photographic developing and treating solutions. I. G. FARBENINDUSTRIE AKT.-GES. May 31, 1937, No. 15080. Convention date, June 25, 1936. [Class 98 (ii)] To avoid the precipitation of lime salts from the water used to dilute or prepare photographic developing or other solutions for treatment of an exposed photographic layer, the concentrated solution or a preparation in solid form for preparing the solutions contains in addition a small quantity of an aliphatic nitrogenous poly-carboxylic acid or a water soluble salt thereof, e.g. an alkali salt. Suitable acids are trimethylamine-tricarboxylic acid, tetramethyl-diaminoethanetetracarboxytic acid, and di-#-#<1>-methylaminodiethylamine-dicarboxylic acid, and may be used in the proportion of 0À1-0À5 per cent by weight of solution.
