Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently absorb NOx, by converting NO in gas containing Nox into nitrite or nitrate N by contacting said gas with a treating liquid containing water- soluble phthalocyanin metallic complex compounds, heterocyclic compounds of amines or N and water.
CONSTITUTION: Gas containing Nox is contacted with a treating liquid consisting of water-soluble phthalocyanin metallic complex compounds (For example, cobalet phthalocyaninsulfonic acid or its salt), which wt. % is not less than 0.005 - especially, not less than 0.1, heterocyclic compounds of amines (For example, monoethanol amine) or N, which wt. % is not less than 0.03 - especially, 1, and water in the remainder.
