Abstract
861,391. Two-part couplings. DANN, F., BERGNER, C. F., and KABELWERK VOHWINKEL G.m.b.H. Feb. 21, 1958 [Feb. 23, 1957], No. 5676/58. Class 38 (1). In a cable connector as described in Speci. fication 825,963 the cable wire armouring or synthetic sheathing 11 (Fig. 3) is gripped between an inner sleeve member 14 pushed under the armouring and an outer sleeve 17 which is urged into gripping position by a nut 19 (Fig. 1). Sleeve 14 is pushed in by shoulder 22 acting through ring 23, which may be integral with the sleeve. Sleeve 14 may have both its inner and outer surfaces cylindrical, in which case its leading end is tapered to a sharp edge, or both these surfaces may be conical. It may be slit and/or may be provided with barbs which grip the cable armouring. Movement of ring 23 to the left may be prevented by a screw projecting inside cylindrical part 1a. The joint around cable 2 is sealed by an elastic ring 33 which is compressed by a screw-cap 24.
