Abstract
861,119. Projection screens. PYE Ltd. Aug. 30, 1957 [Aug. 30, 1956], No. 26548/56. Class 97(1) A projection screen, particularly for use in the projection of colour television pictures, comprises a supporting surface to which is applied a self-adhesive pressure-sensitive tape so that the surface of the tape is smooth on application, a sheet of reflecting material being applied to the tacky surface of the tape. As shown, the support for the projection surface is a sheet of hardboard 12 mounted on a framework consisting of horizontal bars 9 and concave strips 8 and having a strip 10 providing a groove for securing the lower edge of the hardboard sheet 12 which is pressed into close contact with the frame by means of clamps. The sheet 12 is then screwed to the framework and the clamps removed. Sheets 2 of pressure sensitive self adhesive tape are then applied to the surface of the hardboard 12 by means of a roller and such that their edges do not overlap, the adhesive protecting sheet is removed, and the reflecting material such as polyvinyl chloride is applied uniformly by means of a roller to the tacky adhesive surface to form a projection layer 3, having lenticulations or corrugations 15.
