Abstract
1295378 Picture frames R SARKISIAN 1 Dec 1970 [13 March 1970] 57007/70 Heading A4X [Also in Divisions G5, E2] A display holder comprises a frame 12 upon which border holder members 14, (16), 18 (20) are hingedly mounted at 48. In Fig. 3, the inner end of the member 14 holds one end of a spring portion 72 of an over-centre leaf spring 70 at a projection 80, the other end 76 engaging between flanges 44, 78 of a wall 34 of the frame. The frame has a back plate 30 and a wall 36 having a flange 42 so that a backing panel 32 can be held between the plate 30 and the flange 42. In alignment with each of the spring portions 70 is an elastomeric clamping pad 82 affixed to the frame and the backing panel 32 as shown in Fig. 3. In operation, the member 14 is lifted at 60 until the pivot end 76 of the spring portion 72 lies below a line from the hinge 48 to the projection 80, when the member 14 is urged into the position shown in Fig.2. A flexible poster 92 is then laid onto the frame and when properly aligned, the member 14 is closed, and the poster 92 is held by the pressure of the spring portion 72 against the resilient pad 82. The poster is held flat against the backing panel 32 by the tip 94 of the member 14.
