Abstract

917,352. Lantern slides. THIEME, C., and THIEME, A. March 23, 1960 [March 26, 1959], No. 10253/60. Class 98 (2). A lantern slide holder comprising a pair of frame members each fitted with a glass plate between which the slide or transparency is held is characterized in that the glass plate is retained by portions on the frame member one at least of said portions being sufficiently resilient to enable the glass plate to be pressed down on to and past said resilient portion with deflection of the latter, the resilient portion then snapping back over the glass plate. The frame member shown in Fig. 2 has hinge pins 21 for press-in engagement with corresponding recesses 22 in the second frame member (Fig. 1) which latter is provided with a rim 2 for enclosing, on engagement, the first frame member and has raised stops 6, 7, for locating the transparency, which are accommodated in corresponding recesses 19, 20 in the first frame member. Lugs 8, 9 and 10 on one frame member (Fig. 1) and lugs 16, 17 and 18 on the other (Fig. 2) retain a glass plate housed in a recess 4 at the margins of the window aperture, and are so arranged that on closure of the frame the lugs of one frame member are out of alignment with those of the other. Lugs 10 and 18 are resilient for snapping engagement over the glass plates after these have been slid under the other two retaining lugs of the respective frame members.
