Abstract

980,497. Slide mounts. E. I. DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO. May 30,1962 [June 7, 1961], No. 20894/62. Heading G2C. A slide mount comprises flat coacting frame and cover members each having a centrally disposed opening, at least one being opaque and at least one having in its inner surface a recess of greater dimensions than the central opening suitable to receive the transparency, one member having a plurality of projecting thermoplastic pins some of which are near the recess while others are near the outer edge, and the other member having corresponding holes. The outside of the holes may have countersuck areas so that the end of the pin projecting therethrough can be heat softened to fill the counter sunk area and from a rivet. The cover member may be smaller than, and fit within a ridge on, the frame member. One member may be dark coloured and the other light coloured or transparent. In the Figures a transparency 10 is mounted within frame member 1, having aperture 2, recess 5, ridge 8 and thermoplastic pins 6 and 7, and cover member 3 having aperture 4, recess 9 and holes 6<SP>1</SP> and 7<SP>1</SP>.
