Abstract

713,057. Goggles. PARMELEE PLASTICS CO. Sept. 23, 1952 No. 23815/52. Class 97(1) Goggles comprise a transparent eyeshield held in place in a frame member by engagement of a number of ribs on the latter with corresponding notches in the periphery of the eyeshield, the ribs being located within a groove of the frame the edges of which engage opposed faces of the periphery of the shield. Fig. 3 shows the groove edges 22, 24 partly in section having located therebetween a number of wedge-shaped ribs 28 engaging correspondingly shaped notches 30 in the periphery of the eyeshield 10, the said periphery engaging the bottom 26 of the groove. The shield and frame are recessed at 14 to receive the nose, the shield having a notch 38 to receive a wedgeshaped portion 36 to hold it in place.
