Abstract

955,075. Ornamenting. F. LOWCOCK. Oct. 28, 1960 [Oct. 29, 1959], No. 36693/59. Heading B6G. A sign or the like comprises at least two sheets or plates of material, at least one of which is transparent or translucent, and all of which are recessed, the recessed faces being located one against the other with the recesses out of register or coincidence. As shown, two sheets 10 and 11 are formed with a recessed cross 12 and a recessed outline of a cross 13 respectively. On assembly, e.g. by use of an adhesive, the sheets form a design of a cross and outline. The recesses may be filled with colouring matter or with grains or spheres of glass or thermoplastic resin. The sheets or plates may also be of glass or thermoplastic resin. The walls of the recesses or some of them may be inclined. If desired, one or both of the outside faces of the assembly may be fluted (as at 14, Fig. 1), frosted, pitted or covered with small lenses. One sheet also may be coloured, the other being clear.
