857,069. Regulating. DAIMLER-BENZ A.G. April 8, 1959 [April 12, 1958], No. 11852/59. Class 7(6). [Also in Group XXIX] A fuel injection pump control rod 20 is actuated by a two-armed lever 14 controlled by means 4 responsive to engine speed and throttle position, the pivot 11 of the lever being adjusted by devices 1, 2, 3, responsive respectively to engine cooling water temperature, ambient air temperature and atmospheric pressure. The pivot pin 11 is carried by a forked link 10 and slides in slots 12 in the lever 14 and a similar slot 13 in the flattened end of a rod 16 actuated by the temperature responsive device 1. The link 10 is attached to a bell-crank lever 9 actuated through a servomotor 8 by a lever 5 which is actuated by,the barometric capsules 3 and is eccentrically pivoted on a device 6 adjusted by the air temperature responsive device 2. The lever 5 actuates the control valve 30 of the servomotor so that the capsules 5 only have the force of the light valve spring 27 reacting thereon. The means 4 comprises a threedimensional cam moved axially according to throttle valve position and angularly according to engine speed. Movement of the link 10 by the lever 9 moves the pin 11 to adjust lever 14 and alter the transmission ratio of its arms. In the idling position the slots in lever 14 and rod 16 coincide so that adjustment of the pin 11 by the devices 2, 3 has no effect on the fuel supply.
