Abstract

857,046. Gear pumps. PARKER-HANNIFEN CORPORATION. Oct. 2, 1957 [Oct. 5, 1956], No. 30793/57. Class 110 (2). In a gear pump wherein the gears 15 are each journalled in opposed bearings 17 mounted in pressure-loaded end bushes 18, the bushes are each provided with a centrally disposed recess 38 for a gasket 39 and extend through a wear plate 20 having recesses 40 in communication with the intermeshing tooth pockets. The plate 20 may also be provided with recesses 42 which together with the recesses 40 communicate with apertures 41 sized to receive the bearings 17. The bushes are provided with pressure-liquid reception grooves 43 and may also be provided with two sets of recesses to selectively receive the sealing gasket 39, (see Figs. 8 and 9, not shown).
