Abstract

1453318 Internally-meshing gear-pumps or motors O ECKERLE 4 Jan 1974 [5 Jan 1973] 00388/74 Heading F1F The ring gear 3 of an internally-meshing gearpump or motor is urged against the pivoted insert 6 between the ring gear and pinion 1 by providing a plurality of external pressure pockets 21, each pocket corresponding to a respective tooth gap with which it communicates via a bore 22 in the ring gear, and the external surface area of the ring gear on which each pressure pocket acts being greater than the associated tooth gap area so that in each case the resultant acts radially inwardly and the sum of the resultants urges the ring gear against insert 6. The axial width of the external surface of the ring gear may be reduced if desired Fig. 2 (not shown), and in a further embodiment only those pockets 21 adjacent the insert 6 are pressurized, in this case via openings in the axial pressure plates, reduction of the resultant force being obtained by relieving one of the pockets.
