Abstract

856,781. Packages. ROSE BROS. (GAINSBOROUGH) Ltd. May 27, 1959 [March 3, 1958], No. 6677/58. Class 94(1). Packages 11 to be wrapped in a band of paper, film, or foil are carried by a conveyer 14 against the band 16 fed between rolls 15 and held by grippers 22, 23. A roll 24 on a pivoted arm 26 takes up any slack in the band. As the package moves along, the band is folded over the top and bottom of the package and the arm 26 moves in the same direction as the package under the control of a cam 37. A cam 31 opens the grippers to release one end of the band. A knife 17 cooperating with a ledger blade 18 cuts the band.
