Abstract

856,503. Masted lift trucks. HERZBRUCH, P., and HERZBRUCH, H., [trading as HERZBRUCH & SOHNE, H.]. March 11, 1959 [Feb. 5, 1958], No. 8331/59. Class 78 (3). A clamp attachment for the lifting carriage of a masted lift truck comprises hydraulicallyactuated arms 4 (Fig. 1), attached through universal joints 8 to clamping plates 7 which are provided with pressure pads 6a, 6b, 6c. Plates 7 are vertically adjustable on the arms by means of pins 10 and holes 9, and are urged to a vertical position by springs (not shown). In a modification (Fig. 3), members 11 are pivoted about a horizontal axis on arms 4 and are connected through universal joints to plates 12 which carry pressure pads 13a, 13b. In a further modification (not shown), a multiplicity of plates 12 are carried by several members 11.
