Class 20(4) A removable wall comprises two or more uprights and panels attached to said uprights, in which each end face of a panel covers a side face of an upright and the panels are secured on the uprights by means of laths which are anchored on the uprights, these various members being so arranged that the laths. lie on such side face or side faces of the uprights which are not covered by end faces of the panels. In Figs. 11, 14 and 16, panels 16 having vertical edges of trapezoidal section are secured to square sectioned tubular uprights 1 by laths 3 of trapezoidal section removably connected, to those sides of the uprights not covered by panel edges, by headed projections 4, Fig. 6, on the laths, engaging keyhole slots 2 in the sides of the uprights. Elements 17, Fig. 13, provided with doors may also be secured to the uprights 1 by means of headed projections which engage keyhole slots 2 in the uprights. The uprights 1 are jammed between the floor and ceiling through flexible pads 7, 15 Figs. 4 and 6 at their lower and upper ends, the pad 15 at the upper end of each upright being carried by a screw threaded rod 13 vertically adjustable by a nut 12 within an element 10 which is slidably urged out of the upright by a compression spring 11. The partition is covered along the top, sides and bottom with skirting boards. The bottom skirting boards 22, Fig. 3 (not shown) may be directly attached to the panels 16. The top skirting boards 23, Fig. 8 (not shown) and 24, Fig. 7 may be carried by rods 28 slidably mounted in the laths 3 and panels 16 and urged outwardly therefrom by compression springs 31 so that the top skirting boards are resiliently pressed against the ceiling. The panels 16 may bear on the floor through strips of soft material. The panels may be glazed.
