Abstract

852,378. Heating metal by electricity. DEUTSCHE EDELSTAHLWERKE A.G., ALLGEMEINE ELEKTRICITATS G.m.b.H., and TRIERER WALZWERK A.G. March 5, 1958 [March 5, 1957], No. 7110/58. Class 39(3). [Also in Group XXXVI] The tin or electro-tin-plated metal, e.g. iron, strip is fused by electric heating in two temperature stages, the strip being heated by direct passage of current therethrough in the first stage without raising the temperature of the strip to the melting-point of the tin, and the tin being fused by inductive heating in the second stage. The strip is finally run into a quenching bath.
