Electrode and induction furnaces.-In an induction furnace for refining metals, of the type wherein the induction coil surrounds the bath, the slag is heated by an arc formed between two or more electrodes or between electrodes and the bath. In the latter case, one or more additional electrodes may be inserted in the bath.
