Abstract

852,150. Conductor insulation. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. Aug. 14, 1958 [Sept. 24, 1957; Nov. 19, 1957], No. 26141/58. Class 36 [Also in Group XXXV] Not only at least one insulating layer 6 built up of mica paper but also a layer 7 of mica splittings electrically insulates a conductor such as used for windings of dynamo-electric machines. As shown a H.T. winding consists of such a conductor built up of two sets 3, 4 of conductor bars 1 individually insulated by impregnated glass-fibre 2 particularly glass silk cloth, and secured together by a quartz powder filled epoxy resin 5; between the two sets 3, 4 is an insulating layer of hard glass fabric on an epoxy resin base. The mica paper layer 6 may be on a backing of sodium-cellulose paper bound by a pure epoxy resin to the conductor sets, and the splittings layer 7 may be covered with a further mica paper layer 8. The insulation may have an outer discharge protection (not shown) comprising asbestos fabric and an electrically conductive lacquer having an epoxy resin binding agent.
