A sectional drainage inspection chamber has its vertical walls provided with shaped weakened parts 10 in the form of blanks capable of being knocked out to leave holes having bevelled rims to allow the insertion of pipes at any angle. As shown in Fig. 4, weakened parts are formed during casting with bevelled rims 11 surrounding a double convex part 12. The upper part of the chamber is stepped at 3 to form a shoulder 2 having a channel 5 whereby a number of chambers may be erected one on top of another with grease and asbestos or cement packing between them. The uppermost chamber may be fitted with a lid resting on its shoulder 2. The chambers may be made by casting concrete into a mould made of steel, wood, plastic or concrete.
