817,478. Building blocks. BLACHE, A. May 31, 1956 [June 13, 1955], No. 16821/56. Class 87(1) A building block is provided with three longitudinal rows of blind cavities 6-8 open only towards the bottom; of the block, mortar grooves 10 in at least one end face, and at least one open-ended groove in the upper face. The inner walls 4, 5 are of less height than the outer walls 2, 3 allowing a space for mortar 12 between courses. There may be two longitudinal tongues 9 on the upper face which project into the lateral cavities 7, 8 of the block above, or a single central tongue, Fig. 5 (not shown), projecting into the central cavities 6 of an upper block. Rabbets 14 are provided along two edges of the outer wall 2.
