Abstract

849,781. End-tipping wagons; hydraulic jacks. MOY, P. C. D. April 15, 1959 [Jan. 24, 1958], No. 2479/58. Classes 78 (3) and 78 (4). A jacking system 5, 6, for end-tipping a railway wagon is supported from the track sleepers 24, 25, by feet 15 on a framework 15, 16. An intermediate sleeper 7 supports the base of the jacking system which, in the form shown, Fig. 1, comprises two three stage hydraulic jacks 5, 6, engaging an axle 12 of the wagon through crutches 10, 11. The feet 19 comprise screwjacks sliding in horizontal slots in channel members 15. The two jacks may be replaced by one jack having a crutch with a transverse extension each side of its head.
