A re-inforced screw pile is characterised in that the screw point consists of an upper cylindrical portion A, a lower cylindrical portion Band an intermediate conical portion C. Both the depth of thread and the ratio of the depth of thread to core diameter are greater on part A than on part B, while over the portion C the depth of thread and the core diameter change uniformly. The thread is of constant pitch and is preferably double-start. A metal foot S is attached to the lower end of the pile and serves as an attachment for the vertical re-inforcement.
