848,307. Moulding slabs of glass and reinforced concrete. STAHL-UND WALZWERKE ROSSELSTEIN/ANDERNACH A. G. Feb. 12, 1959, No. 4965/59. Class 87(2). [Also in Group X] Slabs of glass and reinforced concrete are moulded in an assembly which comprises a base plate 1 with protuberances 2 at intervals for positioning glass plates 6, a moulding bed 4 with openings corresponding to the protuberances 2 and laid on the base plate 1 with the protuberances projecting through the openings and a mould-defining frame 7 placed on the moulding bed 4. The moulding bed is preferably made of sheet steel, with reinforcing webs 11, 12. Reinforcing irons 8 are placed in position and light-weight concrete 9 is poured in and consolidated by tamping or shaking. A fine cement mortar facing 10 may be added. The moulded slab is lifted away from the assembly on the moulding bed 4 and left to dry thereon. For upright slabs, protuberances from the base engage recesses in the glass plates.
