Abstract

847,279. Spiked plates. LONGHURST, J. H. Oct. 28, 1958 [Oct. 31, 1957], No. 34091/57. Class 89(2). A spiked plate 10 is applied over a nail 14 to trap the nail head when the spikes 13 are driven into one of two members to be joined together. To facilitate this, the plate is driven by hammer blows on a tube surrounding the nail. The one member is then applied so that the nail is driven into the other thereby securing the members together.
