Abstract
914,529. Anchor-nuts. UNITED-CARR FASTENER CORPORATION. Sept. 28, 1960 [Oct. 9, 1959], No. 33370/60. Class 89 (1). An internally-threaded hollow member 12 of resilient metal, e.g. for receiving a stud, has a flange 16 from which are bent prongs 14, the outer edges 18 of which are parallel, as in Fig. 1, to the axis of the member before it is hammered into a hole 26, e.g. in a wooden panel, but after the insertion, Fig. 4, are inclined outwardly because the end edges 20 of the prongs are initially inclined to the axis and are therefore forced outwardly by the movement into the wood. The prong parts 22 nearer the flange 16 are narrow so that barbs 21 are formed at their upper ends.
