Abstract

1347058 Staples STENMAN HOLLAND NV 23 Aug 1971 [10 Nov 1970] 39374/71 Heading F2H A mounting 4 is fastened to a base 2 by a staple 5 comprising a web 6 and legs 7. The mounting 4 has a recess 9 having one or more apertures 11 which are either inwardly diverged as shown, thereby causing the legs 7 to diverge when forced into them, or are inwardly converged, the legs then converging upon entry. Anchoring of the staple 5 may be assisted in the embodiment shown, by centrally deforming the web 6 which diverges the legs 7 still further. The staple may comprise a rectangular web having legs at each corner. The web 6 matches, at least along part of its periphery, the shape of the recess 9.
