682,577. Nails. UNITED-CARR FASTENER CORPORATION. June 4, 1951 [June 22, 1950], No. 13238/51. Class 89 (ii) A nail like fastener for assembly into aligned openings in spaced panels is made from sheet metal with the shank 24 bent to angular form and with a prong or barb 40 stamped from the corner of the angle thus permitting it to be pressed back into place when passing through holes 12, 14 in panels 16, 18. The prong springs out after passing through the panel 18 locking the panels in place as shown in Fig. 6, in conjunction with the integral head 22 that is domed and connected to the shank by the folded-under section shown.
