Class 44 A door lock comprises a sliding chamfered bolt 10 having, in its head 21, a recess 29 cooperating with a roller mounted in a frame 22, 23 in a door post 14, to arrest and lock the door 12 before a door frame member 31 strikes the post 14. The bolt 12 is biased to the locked position by a spring 15 with a spring 32 acting as a buffering device, the roller being a metallic cylinder which may be surrounded by an elastic sleeve.
