Abstract
842,153. Moulding gramophone records. DEUTSCHE GRAMMOPHON G.m.b.H. March 4, 1957 [March 7, 1956; March 29, 1956], No. 7037/57. Class 87(2). [Also in Group XXXVIII] In pressing a gramophone disc record incorporating a low-grade core 11 within recordgroove-taking material 12 (see Group XXXVIII), the core material may be extruded and surrounded by material for the part 12, the resulting rod being cut into tablets each consisting of a ring of groove-receiving material round a mass of core material and each of correct size for forming into a record in the press; the tablets may also be separately moulded. In die-casting, the required quantity of groovereceiving material is applied to a mandrel in the mould before closure, or is injected after closure, and the core material is then centrally injected and forces the first material outwards to form the part 12.
