Abstract

845,033. Moulding coated tablets. HOLROYD & CO. Ltd., J., and STOTT, F. T. Dec. 22, 1958 [Dec. 14, 1957], No. 38943/57. Class 87(2). A tablet coating machine of the kind described in Specification 759,081 has a transfer mechanism C constructed to ensure the correct orientation of the tablet core 51 in the coating die 11b, the machine being specially designed for non-circular tablets. This is effected by a tongue 23 on the transfer element 20 which engages recesses 25a, 25b on spigots 19a, 19b above the dies 11a, 11b. The core 51 is pushed out into the die 11b by a weight 21a. The transfer mechanism may be used for pre-formed cores.
