Abstract

869,230. Injection moulding machines. NOTHELFER, W. Nov. 21, 1957 [Nov. 21, 1956], No. 36346/57. Class 87(2). A piston 13 in a cylinder 12 has a barblike head 15 for removing the sprue 19 from the injection opening of a mould 1, 2. Injection takes place through a Z- shaped passage 9 in a piston 7 which is slidable in a cylinder 5 to bring the passage 9 into register with an injection passage 11 and with the injection opening to the mould. The piston 7 contains a second passage 8 to allow the head 15 to penetrate the sprue 19. When the sprue begins to solidify, the piston 13 is withdrawn and the sprue is drawn back by the head 15 and stripped off at the cylinder 12.
