Abstract

841,942. Securing articles on shafts. M.L. AVIATION CO. Ltd. Jan. 31, 1957 [Feb. 28, 1956], No. 6198/56. Class 80 (2). [Also in Groups XXV, XXXIII and XXXIV] A pulley 3, propeller or wheel, is secured against a flange 2 on a driving hub 1 by a screw 8 having a head bearing on a ring 7 fixed by screws to the pulley. The head carries one or more pawls 16 pivoted at 17 and urged by springs 26 to engage one of a number of grooves formed on ring 7 thereby locking the screw. A tommy-bar 22 applied to a hole 21 through the head to rotate the screw moves the pawl or pawls away from the ring. The screw is held captive to the ring by a circlip 11.
