875,193. Washers &c. McKEE, J. R. Oct. 16, 1958, No. 33078/58. Class 89(1). [Also in Group XXVI] A sealing washer comprises a rigid member 2, e.g. of metal, with a central aperture 3, and resilient rubber-like members 4, 6, bonded to opposite sides of the member 2 with apertures 5, 7 concentric with aperture 3. Aperture 5 is as large as or larger than, and aperture 7 is smaller than aperture 3. In use a bolt head 9 engages member 4 and the shank 8 distorts member 6 about the aperture to hold the washer on the bolt. The washer, also serves to hold the bolt against rotation while a nut is screwed thereon. Specification 792,215 is referred to.
