730,343. Nuts and washers ; bolting. ENDERS, M. L. April 29, 1953 [Feb. 6, 1953], No. 11818/53. Class 89(1). Fastening means comprises a bolt 12, Fig. 2, or stud, a nut 14A and a washer 16A, the nut having an annular edge 14E to contact a conical surface 16S in the washer, thereby permitting the nut to centralise itself and be tightened without setting up unequal stresses. In another arrangement, an annular edge 16E, Fig. 3, on the washer engages a conical surface 14S in the nut. The edge and surface have substantially line contact.
