Abstract
Iron-base alloys, suitable for making welded articles, have compositions, in per cent by weight, in the following range: .Cr.15-19 .Mn.7-15 .C.up to 0.1 .Ni.1.5-4 .Nb. .Fe and impurities the remainder,. the composition of each alloy being such as to satisfy the following relations: (1) 100 C + 0.5 Mn +3 Ni - (.5 Cr + a.A) is equal to or greater than - 3.5, A (2) - is greater than n and m is less than C Ni - which is less than p, C, Mn, Ni, Cr A representing the contents of those elements, A being the content of Nb, a = 8, n = 10, m = 1.2 and p = 3.5.
