Abstract

838,543. Two-part couplings. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. Feb. 12, 1958 [.Tan. 18, 1957], No. 2012/57. Class 38 (1). A connector for a printed circuit panel comprises an insulating body 1 (Fig. 1) having a slot 3 extending partly through the body and joining enlarged channels 6 each of which extends through the body and accommodates a contact 19 (Fig. 4). A cover 14 is slidable on to body 1 with grooves 12, 13 accommodating ridges 10, 1], and has lugs 17 through which it can be secured to a printed circuit panel inserted into slot 3 of body 1 and fitting between the lugs 17 when the cover is in position. The lead wires connected to the contacts in body 1 pass in through cover 14 and may be assembled in the form of a cable harness. The resilient contacts 19 which form the subject of Specification 838,544, are held in channels 6 by shoulders 26, 27 which engage projections in the walls of the channels.
