Abstract

838,477. Pallets for handling loads. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES OF AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND Ltd. July 14, 1958 [July 12, 1957], No. 22456/58. Class 78 (4). A pallet is formed by pressing a sheet of plastic material to form spacers and strengthening ribs. In the construction shown in Fig. 1 the pallet rests on deep depressions 4, 6, 8 and is strengthened by shallower circular corrugations 5 and by shallow depressions 7. The pallet of Fig. 4 rests on feet formed by deep depressions 11, 12 and is reinforced by shallower depressions 13 ... 16. The central depression 16 of each set of three may extend from the central foot 11 to a corner foot 12. The pallet may be pressed from any non-metallic material including synthetic plastic material and vegetable fibre or wood shavings or dust bound by a resin. The spaces may be formed as channels extending transversely of the pallet.
