Bei den aus W 93/13997 bekannten Metallblechpaletten, von der die Erfindung ausgeht, bestehen die Palettenfüße aus kegelstumpfförmigen Ausprägungen des Metallblechs. Bei der Herstellung tieferer Ausprägungen mit kegelstumpfförmiger Gestalt reißt das Material. Die Versteifungssicken sind symmetrisch über die gesamte Fläche des Metallblechs verteilt angeordnet und erstrecken sich bis zum Rand des Metallblechs. Dadurch wird die Verwindungssteifigkeit der erfindungsgemäßen Palette wesentlich verbessert. Die symmetrische Verteilung und die Erstreckung der Sicken bis zum Rand des Metallblechs bewirken, daß beim Neben- oder Übereinanderlegen von zwei oder mehr Paletten zur Bildung einer größeren Palette die Sicken der einen Palette genau in die Sicken der anderen Palette passen. Vorzugsweise sind die Versteifungssicken mit äquidistanten Abständen in parallelen, sich sowohl in Längsrichtung als auch in Querrichtung überlappenden Reihen angeordnet, wobei alle Sicken in einem Winkel von 45° zum Palettenrand ausgerichtet und die Sicken benachbarter Reihen rechtwinklig zueinander angeordnet sind. In weiterer Ausgestaltung lehrt die Erfindung, daß die napfförmigen Ausprägungen an ihrer Unterseite eine Öffnung zum Anschluß von Blechstreifen aufweist, deren Breite geringfügig größer ist als der Durchmesser der Ausprägungen und deren Länge der gesamten Länge bzw. der gesamten Breite der Palette entspricht, wobei die Blechstreifen lösbar an der Palette befestigbar sind und einen Gurt bilden, der ein Durchbiegen der Palette verhindert. Um eine einwandfreie Verbindung der Blechstreifen mit dem die Palette bildenden Metallblech zu erreichen, sind an der Oberseite der Blechstreifen Vorsprünge vorgesehen, deren Abstand voneinander dem Abstand der halbkugelförmigen Ausprägungen des Metallblechs entspricht und die so bemessen sind, daß sie in die an der Unterseite der Ausprägungen vorgesehenen Öffnungen eingreifen. Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ferner ein Verfahren zur Herstellung einer Palette aus einem Metallblech, wobei an einem die Auflagefläche der Palette bildenden Metallblech mit Tiefziehwerkzeugen napfförmige Ausprägungen angeformt werden, die jeweils aus einem an die Auflagefläche anschließenden kegelförmigen Wandabschnitt sowie einen stetig daran anschließenden halbkugelförmigen Kopf bestehen und Palettenfüße bilden. Erfindungsgemäß werden die Ausprägungen zunächst vorgezogen sowie anschließend auf das Endmaß ausgeformt, wobei zum Vorziehen und bei der anschließenden Fertigbearbeitung halbkugelförmige Tiefziehwerkzeuge mit unterschiedlichem Durchmesser verwendet werden. Es versteht sich, daß alle napfförmigen Ausprägungen der Palette gleichzeitig hergestellt werden. Nach bevorzugter Ausführung der Erfindung werden zum Vorziehen Halbkugeln als Tiefziehwerkzeuge eingesetzt, die an ihrer dem Metallblech zugeordneten Vorderseite abgeplattet sind und einen kleineren Durchmesser aufweisen, als die zur Fertigbearbeitung verwendeten Tiefziehwerkzeuge. Bei der Fertigbearbeitung der napfförmigen Ausprägungen können gleichzeitig nach unten gerichtete Versteifungssicken in die Auflagefläche eingeformt werden. Fig. 6 - 9).
