Abstract

837,269. Tractor driving gear. SOC. INDUSTRIELLE DE MACHINES AGRICOLES ROTATIVES SIMAR, and DUFOUR, J. R. Sept. 1, 1958 [Sept. 21, 1957], No. 28064/58. Class 79(2) An agricultural machine, such as a cultivator, comprises a reversible engine 1 and a gear box having only two ratios, the train for one of the ratios comprising an additional gear 10 so that the machine is reversed by a change of transmission ratio and choice of working speed is effected by reversal of the engine. A pinion 4b on the driving shaft 4 meshes with a pinion 6 loosely mounted on a shaft 7 while a pinion 4a drives the gear 10 which is in mesh with a second loosely mounted pinion 5. The shaft 7 may be connected by a clutch 8 with either of the pinions 5, 6 and drives the wheel shaft 11 of the machine through a worm gear 12. The machine may be a walk-type tractor having a two-stroke engine and a reversible steering bar.
