Class 72 A method of agitating a metal melt comprises repeatedly withdrawing a portion of the melt into a vessel disposed above the melt and at sub-atmospheric pressure and then rapidly increasing the distance between the vessel and the melt so that the portion is returned to the melt with high energy and the melt vigorously agitated.
