Abstract
PURPOSE:To accelerate stirring of molten steel in the ladle by disposing a linear motor to the outside circumference of the pass pipe which allows molten steel to flow down and accelerating the downward flow while imparting heat to the flowing down molten steel. CONSTITUTION:A linear motor 7 is disposed to the outside circumference of a molten steel down pipe 5 provided to a vacuum vessel 2 and this is operated at frequencies of 50-60 cycles. This causes the downward flow to be accelerated while imparting heat of about the tapping temperature to the molten steel 4. The accelerated molten steel is flowed back vigorously into the ladle 1 from the down pipe 5 and reaches the deep part of the molten steel 4 in the ladle 1, whereby the molten steel 4 is sufficiently stirred. As a result, the molten steel 4 is subsequently sucked up into the vacuum vessel 2 without stagnating untreated and is thereby subjected to degassing treatment. This results in improved degassing efficiency and shortened treatment time.
