Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable safe treatment of sufficient heating and stirring for molten metal by providing a partition device forming a communicating opening hole to be freely opened/shutted, vacuum treating vessel, vacuum exhausting device and electromagnetic induction coil in a metallurgical treating apparatus. CONSTITUTION:The communicating hole 12 at lower part of the partition weir 10 in a tundish 8 is made to opening state by ascending a stopper and the molten steel 4 is supplied into a molten steel receiving chamber 8A from a ladle 2. After level of the molten steel 4 raises to suitable height, the vacuum treating vessel 14 is descended, to submerge a sucking tube 16A and a discharging tube 16B into the molten steel 4. Next, by descending the stopper, the communicating hole is made to shutting state and at the time of exhausting and reducing the pressure by working the vacuum treating vessel 14, the molten steel 4 is sucked up into the vessel 14. When the level of the molten steel 4 in the vacuum treating vessel 14 raises to the suitable height, the electromagnetic induction coil 20 is worked and if necessary, the metallurgical treatment of the heating and/or the stirring, etc., of the molten steel 4 is executed.
