Abstract
835,252. Knitting. PHILIP, M. April 13, 1956 [April 28, 1955; Jan. 9, 1956], No. 11289/56. Drawings to Specification. Class 74 (2). A multifeeder circular interlock machine has yarn feeders arranged in pairs so that when the machine is producing interlock fabric the appropriate needles receive yarn and knit at the respective feeders in the normal manner. When, however, it is desired to produce a rib portion attached to the interlock portion of the fabric the leading guide of each pair of feeders is raised from its normal yarn feeding position to a position where the yarn as it is taken by the last needle to receive it at that feeder engages with a recess in or portion of the yarn guide of the trailing feeder so that the two yarns of each pair of feeders are fed simultaneously at the trailing feeder to those needles which normally knit at that feeder. This thereby causes a 1 X 1 rib portion to be produced in which the yarns of the two feeders are knitted in plated relationship, the intervening needles which still continue to be actuated by the earns at the first or leading feeder casting off their last loops as they are so actuated. U.S.A. Re-issue Specification 925,393 is referred to.
